EPA Method 11:DETERMINATION OF HYDROGEN SULFIDE CONTENT OF FUEL GAS STREAMS IN PETROLEUM REFINERIES
Summary:A sample is extracted from a source and passed through a series of midget impingers containing a cadmium sulfate (CdSO4) solution; H2S is absorbed, forming cadmium sulfide (CdS). The latter compound is then measured iodometrically.
Scope:This method is applicable for the determination of the H2S content of fuel gas streams at petroleum refineries.
