EPA Method 1654A:PAH Content of Oil by HPLC/UV
Summary:An oil sample is diluted in acetonitrile and a 20-?L aliquot is injected into the HPLC. The PAHs are partially separated by HPLC and detected with the UV detector.
Scope:This method is designed to determine the polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) content of oil by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with an ultra-violet absorption (UV) detector. The PAH content is measured and reported as phenanthrene.
