EPA Method 5G:DETERMINATION OF PARTICULATE MATTER EMISSIONS FROM WOOD HEATERS (DILUTION TUNNEL SAMPLING LOCATION)
Summary:The exhaust from a wood heater is collected with a total collection hood, and is combined with ambient dilution air. Particulate matter is withdrawn proportionally from a single point in a sampling tunnel, and is collected on two glass fiber filters in series. The filters are maintained at a temperature of no greater than 32 EC (90 EF). The particulate mass is determined gravimetrically after the removal of uncombined water.
Scope:This method is applicable for the determination of PM emissions from wood heaters.
