EPA Method 631:The Determination of Benomyl and Carbendazim in Municipal and Industrial Wastewater
Summary:A measured volume of sample, approximately 1 L, is acidified if necessary to hydrolyze benomyl to carbendazim. The total carbendazim is extracted with methylene chloride using a separatory funnel. The extract is dried and exchanged to methanol during concentration to a volume of 10 mL or less. HPLC conditions are described which permit the separation and measurement of total carbendazim in the extract by HPLC with a UV detector.
Scope:This method covers the determination of benomyl and carbendazim.
