EPA Method 8082:POLYCHLORINATED BIPHENYLS (PCBs) BY GAS CHROMATOGRAPHY
Summary:A measured volume or weight of sample (approximately 1 L for liquids, 2 g to 30 g for solids) is extracted using the appropriate matrix-specific sample extraction technique.
Scope:Method 8082 is used to determine the concentrations of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) as Aroclors or as individual PCB congeners in extracts from solid and aqueous matrices. Opentubular, capillary columns are employed with electron capture detectors (ECD) or electrolytic conductivity detectors (ELCD). When compared to packed columns, these fused-silica, open-tubular columns offer improved resolution, better selectivity, increased sensitivity, and faster analysis. The target compounds listed below may be determined by either a single- or dual-column analysis system.
Test Description:PCBs by Cap Column G
Report Number:SW-846 Ch 4.3.1
