EPA Method 8170:ASSAY OF CHEMICAL AGENTS IN SOLID AND AQUEOUS SAMPLES BY GAS CHROMATOGRAPHY/FLAME PHOTOMETRIC DETECTION (GC/FPD)
Summary:This method describes the analysis of chemical agents in aqueous and solid samples by gas chromatography/flame photometric detection (GCFPD). The method has been applied to concrete, charcoal, wood, water, brine, ash, coral, sand, and soil. It involves introduction of the sample into a gas chromatograph equipped with flame photometric detector. Samples can either be directly injected or thermally desorbed from a solid sorbent.
